The Cherry Tree, once again

Pastel pink petals were littered outside my front yard as I looked out the window. The sky was clear and blue, and the sunlight of noon blanketed the cherry tree gently. It's always a treat to see it in full blossom. Yet, looking closely, specks of green leaves could be seen on its branches.

It's always like this when I notice the tree. Just as I finally take the time to look at it, the blossoms are already fading away. It only feels like last week when I saw the first of the flower buds begin to grow. Now, I'm reminded once again of how fleeting the beauty of spring is.

There's always next year. That is, if I'm still living in the family home. When I move on from this chapter of my life, I hope the pink blossoms will still be here waiting for me.
